Ragemachine

Greetings Alpha guild,
My character’s name is Ragemachine and I play a warrior on the Staghelm-PvE server. My friend Meriana (mage) and I have been looking for a new home. Though Staghelm has progressed far in the last few months, we’re looking to move to a better PvE server and better PvP battlegroup.
About me… I’ve been playing on Staghelm as a warrior since the day it opened. Pre-TBC I’ve cleared everything except Four Horsemen and Kel’Thuzad. Post-TBC I’ve cleared 4/5 Hyjal and up to Gurtogg Bloodboil (haven’t yet attempted, working on Archimond first) in BT.
Gear and spec:
I’ve been a number of specs pre- and post-TBC, but have settled on 33/28 Blood Frenzy. In my current guild, it simply works out best since we bring 2-3 rogues, 1 warrior and 3-4 hunters on any given raid. I’ve always been a fan of 2-handers over fury, and Blood Frenzy and Improved Slam give it amazing results in PvE, even after the windfury nerf.
My DPS rotation (when rage permits) is as follows:
Auto, slam, MS, auto, slam, WW, auto, slam, MS, auto, slam, (gap), repeat. During the gap where both MS and WW is down I usually apply/reapply demoralizing shout since I have it talented as the strongest attack power debuff available. Other than my single-target DPS rotation (which nets me from 1000-1100 DPS on stationary fights) I assist the MT with applying sunders at the start of a fight or reapplying them should they drop off.
On trash, I occasionally assist with tanking. Since armory doesn’t show it, I have a tanking set with 2-piece T4, 1-piece T5, the Merciless Gladiator’s Shield Wall, the engineering Tanktronic Goggles, and some Karazhan/5-man blues and epics. It all adds up to give me 15,996 armor and 14,334 HP unbuffed with 495 defense.
Additionally, but not important for PvE needs (except maybe fights where high stamina is important), I have 5/5 Merciless Gladiator set and a Stormherald which I use for PvP. I don’t know how your guild feels, but I believe PvP can teach a player a lot about his class and its strengths and weaknesses. It teaches you that mouselook-turning and keybinding are essential and that awareness of your surroundings can save your life – things that apply to PvE as well. Also, I find the competition a hell of a lot of fun and our 5v5 has been very successful in the Shadowburn battlegroup.
Raiding and its costs:
I have no problems with meeting your scheduled raid times. My current guild raids six days a week (only Saturday off) from 8PM-1AM eastern. I usually make it to at mimimum 25 out of the 30 raiding hours, and could have the attendance numbers shown to you if you would like (they are not public).
I don’t mind respeccing in the least. I often respec a few times a week for PvP, so modifying my PvE spec is not a problem. I am entirely open to suggestions on how I might improve my spec to help the raid, and have specific reasons for the ways I have placed my points currently. Some basic things I could change would be to pick up improved thunderclap, move points from improved intercept to improved execute, and drop piercing howl for 5/5 commanding presence. In my current guild, though, the prot warriors all have improved thunderclap and I’ve found intercept and piercing howl to be very helpful for all of the bosses in Hyjal.
For consumables, I usually bring the following to a raid:
40 Heavy Netherweave Bandages
2 flasks of relentless assault (at minimum)
20 Roasted Clefthoof
And an assortment of healing potions from Combat (PvP tokens) to Super Healing and Volatile (Skettis daily escort)
I’ve become rather rich from crafting, so I can meet any respect, repair or consumable costs with ease.
IRL me:
As for me? I’m a 22 year old graduate of Tufts University with an Electrical Engineering degree. I’m planning on returning to school part-time to take some courses I couldn’t fit into my undergrad schedule, so no major scheduling changes in my near future. I have a microphone and no problems with using Ventrilo (my transmit key is bound to Mouse3 for easy access).
I’m kind of a math nerd, so I’ll post this up too (my pride and joy):

That is an Excel spreadsheet I’ve been working on for the past few months. Since TBC was released, most DPS spreadsheets have been outdated. All I could seem to find were dual-wield calculators so I made my own 2hand DPS spreadsheet. With this, I can basically plan out all of my gear upgrades ahead of time, and optimize my equipment and damage cycle for maximum DPS. It’s still a work in progress, so it’s kind of a mess, but I bet any warriors could figure it out the basics.
Thanks for your consideration, hope to hear back from you
